Val d'Isère is located at an altitude of 1850 m, five kilometers from the border with Italy, between the French Vanoise National Park and the Italian Grand Paradis.
The nearest international airports are Geneva (220 km, 3 hours by car), Chambéry (140 km, about 2 hours by car).
The nearest railway station is Bourg St. Maurice, 30 km. By train, Bourg Saint Maurice can be reached from all major cities in France. You can also drive to Val d'Isère from Turin (approx. 2.5 hours) and Milan (approx. 4 hours). By train you can get to Bourg-St. Maurice, from where buses run to Val d'Isère. By bus. From the airports of Lyon and Geneva - www.altibus.com. Price: 70 Euro - one way, 98 - round trip. www.bensbus.co.uk - buses from the airports of Grenoble, Geneva, Lyon and Chambéry. Price (approximate): from Geneva airport (round trip) - 95 Euro, from Grenoble - from 100 Euro.
By car. From Geneva: take the A41 to Annecy, then take the N90 to Albertville, from where follow the signs to Bourge-St. Maurice and then on Tignes. From Lyon: take the A43 towards Albertville, then follow the signs for Tottier, Bourg-St. Maurice and then to Val d'Isère. Attention! The Petit St Bernard, Iseran and Mont Cenis passes are closed in winter.
