France Transfer

The French commune of Megève, located in Haute-Savoie in close proximity to the majestic Mont Blanc, became a famous ski resort at the beginning of the 20th century, in the development of which Baron Rothschild made a significant contribution. Located at a low altitude - about 1100 meters above sea level - Megeve cannot boast of a stable snow cover and a long ski season, but this more than pays off with other advantages of the resort: a magnificent view of the highest mountain in Western Europe, a well-thought-out and diverse après ski infrastructure, access to the vast skiing area of ​​Evasion Mont Blanc, which includes three large mountain ranges. In addition, the low location allows you to diversify the ski routes: the slopes are framed by spruce and fir forests and sometimes pass between tall alpine pines.
 
The town itself is a real open-air museum, like an ancient alpine settlement frozen in time: winding streets paved with stone form a bizarre “web” on the resort map; cozy Savoyard chalets with wooden balconies and picturesque attics, Catholic medieval churches, towers and a monastery are built along them; the historical center is free from cars - horse-drawn carriages move around it. Below, at the foot of the mountains, is the village of Saint-Gervais - the land of hot mineral springs.
 
Two airports - in Annecy and Chambéry - are within 100 kilometers from Megeve, a little further away are the larger French cities of Lyon and Grenoble, from where a transfer to the resort is also possible. Geneva lies 87 kilometers away, and many tourists prefer to get to the French town through Switzerland. Salans railway station is located 12 kilometers from Megeve, from which buses depart regularly, taking travelers to the resort center in 20 minutes.
