Today, the Les Arcs 1950 ski resort is considered in Europe as a model for the development of snowboarding and off-piste skiing. It consists of several parts located at different heights:

They have a common network of lifts, and are also connected by road and ski slopes. There is no car traffic inside the resorts themselves.
